Daily Experiences
Meeting:
greeting, talk about plans for the day, share experiences, books
Movement & Music:
yoga, mindfulness, dancing, singing with finger-plays, musical instruments
Co-op Groups:
small groups, guided exploration, work on the acquisition of specific skills, interests inspire projects, on-going work process may last several weeks
Choice Time:
children pursue personal interests and interact with peers; adults observe, pose questions, model exploration and problem-solving, document discoveries; classroom and outside environments intentionally set up to support development in all domains
Outdoor Exploration:
integrated, opened-ended, and guided exploration throughout the day. This may include time on and off the playground including in the woods, Mills Riverside Park, and the greater school grounds.
Snack:
children take charge of setup and cleanup, use ceramic plates and glass cups, learn to pour, adults sit and eat with children and engage in conversation with children.
Clean-up:
children share responsibility for classroom organization/cleanup
